About Angel Pet Sitters

A resident of Springdale, Arkansas, Leslie Ray founded Angel Pet Sitters in 2000. Her vision was to provide Northwest Arkansas with an alternative to boarding kennels for discerning pet owners.

Because she has her own family of pets, she has long been concerned with the ethical treatment of animals. She is dedicated to the same mission as the ASPCA, which promotes humane principles, the prevention of cruelty to, and the alleviation of fear, pain and suffering in animals.

Over 38 Years Experience in the Care of Domestic & Exotic Pets

Leslie Ray has been a professional writer and the Little Rock Animal Care reporter for Examiner.com. She wrote informative articles about domestic and exotic pets, new species of animals and animal health. She is the former editor-in-chief of ArkanPaws Magazine, a pets publication that was previously published in Northwest Arkansas. She has also written several articles for Pet Sitters World, the professional publication of Pet Sitters International, of which Leslie is a member and CPPS.

Accomplishments: Founder and editor-in-chief of ArkanPaws Magazine, a NWA pet-related magazine (2008); Co-Founder of For Pets Sake, an animal welfare organization (served as VP and board member, 2003-2009); contributing writer for Pet Sitters World, Pet Sitters International's trade magazine (2004-present); Little Rock animal care writer, Examiner.com (2009); volunteer for Springdale Animal Services (2011); and mentor for startup professional pet sitters across the U.S (2007-present).

Leslie and her husband, Art, are the proud parents of three children: Hilary, Evan, and Billie Jean; and 3 dogs (Ribbie, Bitsy & Micha), one cat (Kain), and 2 Pacific parrotlets (Maria & Citrine). Two of their dogs are puppy mill rescues, and their kitty was an abandoned stray that wandered onto their property. All of the pets live in harmony on 5.5 acres in Springdale, Arkansas.
