Meet the Dog Walkers & Pet Sitters

Leslie Ray, Owner/Mgr

My husband and I moved to Springdale, Arkansas in 1984. We have three adult children, as well as one dog and two cats. In 2000, I founded Angel Pet Sitters, to provide Northwest Arkansas with a more appealing and comfortable alternative to boarding for discerning pet owners.

I was a professional writer for Pet Sitters International's "Pet Sitters World" magazine, the Little Rock Animal Care reporter for Examiner.com, and publisher/editor of NWA's ArkanPaws Magazine from 2008-2009. I co-founded For Pets' Sake, an animal welfare organization, in 2003 (served as VP and board member). I volunteered for Springdale Animal Services, in 2003 and 2011. I've fostered animals for area rescues, fostered pets on my own and found them homes. I have mentored start-up professional pet sitters across the U.S.

I have always had pets growing up. Dogs, cats, rabbits and a trained rat, just to name a few. After moving here, I rescued a 10 month old Shar Pei mix puppy with severe hip dysplasia. With diet and exercise, we were able to find him comfort and give him back his independence. Now, 2 yrs later, you would never know he had hip problems. He is running and jumping just as a 2 year old puppy would. I now have 2 dogs and 2 cats with room to expand. Caring for animals is a passion of mine that Angel Pet Sitters has helped me to immerse myself in. All pets need love, and love is what I can give them.

I'm originally from Ireland, but moved to Rogers several years ago with my husband who is a local. I have three rescue cats, a fish tank, and a dog from Rogers shelter, as well as three kids. I love long walks with my kids.

My hobbies are baking, reading, and anything to do with penguins- I've even been to Antartica and Australia to see them!

I've always been interested in animal welfare. In Ireland, I was manager of the Cats Protection Association and volunteered for the DSPCA (Dublin's animal shelter).

Since coming to the US, I've been pet sitting for APS. I have experience with all types of pets.

I love working with animals! In addition to pet sitting with Angel Pet Sitters, I also have my own costume design business and I work part time at a national pet supply store in the area. I have fostered pets for local rescues and have cared for a wide variety of pets, as I grew up with animals in the family.

My costume business is an extension of my love for art and animals. I both design and create intricate animal caricature costumes. I've worn my own costume with Angel Pet Sitters while attending local pet-related events, and I attend national conventions to promote my business when I'm not pet sitting.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life! Since I was very young, I've been surrounded by pets that my family and I would rescue right off the streets. Bottle feeding puppies and kittens is something I've become very familiar with, as well as handling older animals that need a little extra help getting around.

Originally from California, I now live in Fayetteville with my two adorable cats. Being able to spend time with and care for more animals every day, though, is something I truly enjoy; being from a large household of pets!

I like to think I'm a creative person, spending my free time drawing, animating, and writing.

I'm the type of person who waves at dogs outside, hoping that they'll notice me! I love animals so much, I look forward to the day that I can have more than my already perfect household of two cats. Until then, though, I really enjoy being able to pet sit and care for other pets.

My dream is to someday own a local Cat Cafe, where anybody can come in to play and cuddle with adoptable cats. To share cats with those who can't have pets at home, and to send more cats home with families. It's far off yet, but until then, I am so happy to learn about all the different personalities, quirks, and needs of other pets!
